When the London Olympics Opening Ceremony inspired a family game night, I designed a set of printable BINGO sheets for our kids and adults to enjoy. We had a blast marking off squares as familiar sights and moments appeared on screen. With the Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia scheduled to begin on February 6th, I created a fresh Winter Olympics BINGO set geared specifically for the Opening Ceremony. These printables are a simple, entertaining way to keep everyone engaged and excited during the broadcast.

This Winter Olympics BINGO collection contains five distinct sheets. The layouts are shuffled just enough so that every player has a slightly different card without making them completely random. That balance helps keep the game competitive while still being family-friendly. Each sheet includes images and phrases commonly seen during an Opening Ceremony—flags, fireworks, athletes, mascots, national anthems, and other memorable moments—so it’s ideal for viewers of all ages.
How to use the printables:
- Print the sheets on standard paper and provide markers, stickers, or small candies for players to mark squares.
- Decide on winning patterns before the ceremony starts: a single row, column, diagonal, or a full card for a “blackout” BINGO.
- Assign small prizes for each winner to make the evening festive—medals, homemade certificates, or themed snacks work well.
The game is a great way to turn the Opening Ceremony into a special family event. Set up a cozy viewing area, prepare snacks, and consider creating a short schedule that includes the BINGO game plus a few other activities like a quick country trivia round or a craft station for kids to make simple flags or paper snowflakes.

Over the next few weeks I plan to share a handful of recipes inspired by Russia that our family has tried and enjoyed. Introducing children to foods from another culture is an easy, delicious way to spark curiosity about the places and people represented at the Olympics. These recipes will be simple enough to prepare with the family and suitable for pairing with your Opening Ceremony viewing party.
If you want to expand the celebration beyond BINGO, consider additional printables and activities that celebrate the international spirit of the Games—country fact cards, a medal tracker for favorite teams, or a passport-style booklet kids can fill in as they learn about different nations. These low-prep additions help make the evening educational as well as fun.
Download the Opening Ceremony Winter Olympics BINGO sheets and print as many copies as you need for personal use. Keep a stack handy and invite friends and neighbors to join the viewing party for a lively, communal experience. Whether you’re watching for the pageantry, the music, the athletes, or just to spend quality time with family, these BINGO sheets are a simple way to add structure and excitement to the Opening Ceremony.
