Week 3 Food and Fitness Meal Plan and Workout Guide

Weekly Food and Fitness Recap: Family Weekend, Healthy Meals, and Pregnancy Workouts

Hello and happy Monday! It is time for another weekly food and fitness recap, with a look back at our meals, workouts, and family moments from the past week. Before getting into the meal plan and exercise schedule, I wanted to share a few highlights from our weekend.

We visited the family birth center and completed our registration. Since we are delivering at a different hospital this time, it felt good to tour the space, ask questions, and get a little more familiar with where everything will happen. It is hard to believe we only have four weeks to go. The countdown is feeling very real now.

We also enjoyed a family walk and spent a little time exploring near the beach. Hunter had the best time wandering around and, as you can clearly see, he has a serious love for sticks. Simple outdoor time together was exactly what we needed.

I also had a successful round of baking and made a loaf of soft wheat sandwich bread. It turned out so well, and I am excited to share the recipe soon. Homemade bread always makes the kitchen feel extra cozy, especially during a relaxed family weekend.

Of course, we also spent some time cheering on the Seahawks. It was a fun, low-key way to enjoy the weekend at home.

Overall, it was a wonderful weekend with just the right balance of productivity, rest, and family fun. I baked bread, shampooed the downstairs carpets, and still managed to relax quite a bit. Lately, we have been trying to soak up these last weekends as a family of three, and it has felt really special. The slower pace has been good for all of us.

Weekly Meal Plan

Now let’s take a look at what we ate last week. Our dinners were simple, family-friendly, and mostly focused on healthy comfort food. I love meals that are easy to prepare, filling, and made with real ingredients, especially at this stage of pregnancy when energy can come and go.

Monday: Twice-baked sweet potatoes and regular potatoes served with orange slices.

Tuesday: Thai zucchini meatballs over whole wheat egg noodles with sautéed cabbage.

Wednesday: Leftovers, most likely. I honestly cannot remember cooking anything new that night.

Thursday: Cheddar broccoli omelets with whole wheat skillet focaccia and orange slices.

Friday: Whole wheat spaghetti with meat sauce and roasted green beans.

Saturday: BBQ cheddar chickpea burgers on homemade buns with salad, followed by delicious cupcakes made by my sister-in-law.

Sunday: Crockpot Hawaiian teriyaki beef served over rice with steamed cabbage and broccoli.

Weekly Fitness Recap

For fitness, I finally fit in a little more walking, which felt great. My workouts included a mix of strength, cardio, yoga, teaching, and family movement. I am still trying to listen to my body while staying active in a way that feels good and manageable.

Monday: Body Pump and fitness yoga.

Tuesday: Lots of Body Combat practice.

Wednesday: Body Combat, including teaching as Batgirl, followed by a slow walk with Hunter and time playing at the park.

Thursday: Body Pump plus sculpt and tone.

Friday: Body Pump and fitness yoga.

Saturday: Rest day, although shampooing the carpet may count as its own kind of workout.

Sunday: Family walk.

Since it is Martin Luther King Jr. Day, one of my classes was canceled today, so I am enjoying the extra bit of rest. In a little while, I plan to do some dinner prep while Hunter is still napping. I am thinking quiche for tonight, mostly because I forgot to start the crockpot this morning for the meal I had originally planned. I may make an extra quiche for the freezer too, which would be a helpful meal to have ready later.

That is the plan for now, and I should probably get started before Hunter wakes up.

How was your weekend? Were you productive, did you get plenty of relaxation, or did you enjoy a good mix of both?
