I love living in Florida and cooking with Florida Orange Juice. It adds bright, natural sweetness and a clean citrus aroma that transforms simple dishes into memorable meals. This orange glazed ham is one of my favorite holiday centerpieces. It’s straightforward to prepare, uses just a few pantry ingredients, and finishes with a beautiful, glossy glaze that pairs perfectly with sweet rolls, coarse mustard, and cheese for build-your-own sandwiches. Leftover ham also makes excellent fried rice, soups, or omelets.

Before you start, line your counter with foil to simplify cleanup. If your ham has a plastic disk covering the bone, remove that before baking. Place the ham cut side down in a roasting pan and pour in about 1 inch of water. Tightly cover the pan with foil and bake at 325°F for roughly 1 1/2 hours; adjust the time depending on the weight and type of ham you buy. Many packages list a total bake time of about 20 minutes per pound — this initial baking step ensures the ham is heated through and stays moist.

While the ham is baking, prepare the orange glaze. This recipe uses four main ingredients: Florida Orange Juice, packed light brown sugar, orange marmalade, and honey. Combine the orange juice, brown sugar, marmalade, and honey in a small saucepan. Whisk to combine and simmer over medium heat for 10 to 15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the mixture thickens into a glossy glaze. The orange juice gives the glaze a bright citrus flavor while the brown sugar and marmalade add depth and sticky shine.

When the initial baking is complete, carefully remove the ham from the oven and take off the foil. Increase the oven temperature to 425°F. Using a silicone brush or spoon, brush the orange glaze over the surface of the ham. Return the ham to the oven uncovered and continue to roast for about 30 more minutes, brushing with additional glaze every 5–10 minutes to build up a thick, caramelized coating. This finishing step creates a beautiful sheen and concentrates the citrus and sweet flavors.

Ingredients
- 6 pound cooked smoked boneless or semi-bone-in ham
- 1/2 cup Florida Orange Juice
- 1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
- 2 Tablespoons orange marmalade
- 1 Tablespoon honey
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 325°F. Place the ham cut side down in a roasting pan and add about 1 inch of water. Cover tightly with foil and bake for about 1 1/2 hours. Adjust timing according to the weight and type of ham; many hams recommend about 20 minutes per pound total baking time.
- Meanwhile, combine Florida Orange Juice, brown sugar, orange marmalade, and honey in a small saucepan. Whisk together and simmer over medium heat for 10–15 minutes, until the glaze is reduced and slightly thickened.
- Remove the ham from the oven and discard the foil. Increase the oven temperature to 425°F.
- Brush the ham with the prepared orange glaze. Return the ham to the oven uncovered and roast about 30 more minutes, brushing with additional glaze every 5–10 minutes to build a shiny, caramelized crust. When finished, transfer the ham to a cutting board or cooling rack and let rest 15–20 minutes before slicing to allow the juices to settle.

I used turkey lifters to remove and transfer the ham, then sliced it thin for serving. The orange glaze creates a lovely balance of sweet and citrus notes that complement the smoky ham. Serve warm with your favorite sides, rolls, and condiments. Leftovers keep well refrigerated and are versatile for sandwiches, fried rice, quiche, or chopped into salads.
